Marie was born and raised in Normandy, not far from Giverny. Her family has roots in both Normandy and Alsace, which meant that stories of WWII were part of her upbringing. Her interest in history, particularly WWII, began around the age of 10, thanks to her father, a history enthusiast, who took the family to the D-Day landing beaches every year for the anniversary. He also made sure his daughters watched all the WWII movies and documentaries available at the time. These annual trips and film sessions sparked Marie’s desire to learn more and share these stories, though she hadn’t yet realized the profound impact they would have on her.
After traveling around the world for a few years to improve her English and broaden her horizons while working in various fields, she eventually decided to return to Normandy. It was there she chose to delve into sharing the captivating history of her birthplace—and that’s when she truly realized she had found her calling.
